Yanma Fofana draws her inspiration from the Ivorian origins and customs of her relatives combining in her work a potent mix of memories, images, sheer imagination and painterly improvisation. Subtleties of human personality are articulated in her paintings by way of a few confident brushstrokes. The twenty-four years old artist is a graduate of the prestigious École des Beaux Arts in Paris where she grew up and lives.
